Third International Conference on Applied Development Economics 2021

We are pleased to announce that the Centre for Research in Economics and Business (CREB) at Lahore School of Economics will host the 3rd International Conference on Applied Development Economics (ADE) from 8 – 10 September 2021. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the conference will be online. The conference will highlight recent research from developing countries focusing on economic development and poverty alleviation. ADE 2021 will feature plenary talks by Christopher Woodruff (University of Oxford), Victoria Baranov (University of Melbourne) and Danila Serra (Texas A&M University).

The conference aims to (i) highlight recent research that can have lasting policy impact for sustainable growth in the developing world; (ii) provide early career researchers the opportunity to obtain feedback on their on-going work; and (iii) to start a mutually beneficial exchange of ideas and discussions among researchers on potential collaborations.

The conference will include presentations from international and local researchers working on development issues. Session themes broadly include Governance (and service delivery), Firms and Entrepreneurship, Labor, Education, Health, Poverty Reduction, Political Economy and Environment with a special focus on Gender and Public Policy Response to the global pandemic.
