We are a small group of researchers based at the Lahore School of Economics producing cutting-edge policy oriented research in economics and business with a rigorous academic perspective on key development issues facing Pakistan. Our mission is to create a world-class think tank and economic policy discussion forum to disseminate innovative ideas and solutions to pressing real-world problems and fostering sustainable and equitable development, particularly for the poor, women and other marginalized groups. Our work currently focuses on theorizing political economy; exploring the social sector, with an emphasis on education, health, microfinance and community driven development; and investigating industrial innovation and agglomeration.

We leverage our wide network of collaborators and partners and engage with academics, practitioners and policy makers by publishing working papers and policy briefs, regularly organizing seminars and conferences and hosting international scholars. We also strive to build capabilities of our researchers and Lahore School faculty through frequent skills training workshops.
