This research has been funded by the Private Enterprise in Developing Countries (PEDL). This is an exploratory study that aims to study the challenges firms’ face that constrain them from hiring women. We plan to do qualitative surveys with firms in the textile industry in urban Lahore to find out if inaccurate beliefs regarding women’s productivity hampers firms from hiring women. This exploratory study aims to determine the feasibility of launching a pilot or full-scale randomized control trial in the future.
